Right now, there are more than 700 hotels for sale on idealista, and most are concentrated in the ten provinces with the most listings. Alicante leads the ranking with 124 hotels, closely followed by Málaga with 111, and Granada with 88. Then come the major cities: Valencia with 65, Barcelona with 53, and Madrid with 52. Looking at individual towns and cities, there's a mix of everything: provincial capitals and traditional tourist destinations. In the city of Alicante alone, there are more than 30 hotels for sale. Calpe, also in Alicante, has 23. Madrid has 22, Marbella 21, and Valencia 20. These ten provinces account for more than half of all hotels for sale in the country, 53% according to idealista/data. Most are located by the sea.

Besides the top-ranked cities and those already mentioned, Valencia and Barcelona, all on the Mediterranean coast, the Balearic Islands also stand out with 83 hotels, followed by Girona with 63 and Murcia with 48. Madrid and Asturias (54) are the only exceptions to the typical sun and beach destination: Madrid in the center of the country and Asturias on the Cantabrian coast.

The top three provincial capitals with the most hotels for sale are Alicante (31), Madrid (22), and Valencia (20). Although the capitals of these ten provinces only represent 13% of the total hotels for sale, they are usually among the top contenders.
However, the proportion of hotels for sale relative to the provincial total varies considerably. In Madrid, almost half of the hotels for sale are located in the capital city itself (42%). In Valencia, it's 31%, and in Alicante, 25%.

Alongside the three major cities, destinations like Calpe (23) and Marbella (21) also stand out, as well as cities like Málaga (18) and Palma (12), and classic tourist spots such as Benidorm (14), Lloret de Mar (14), Estepona (13), and Altea (12). All of these appear in the top 10 municipalities with the most hotels for sale.

Most of these properties are located on the Mediterranean coast, from the Costa Brava to the Costa del Sol and the Balearic Islands. But it doesn't stop there. Gandía (Valencia) has 11 hotels for sale; Deifontes in Granada, San Javier in Murcia, and Llanes in Asturias each have ten. This gives an idea of the variety of options available.

Other major cities like Granada and Murcia also appear on the list, with eight hotels each. Barcelona, surprisingly, only has four hotels on the market, and Oviedo just one. If we continue reviewing, names like Torremolinos (Alicante), Torrenueva Costa (Granada), Cangas de Onís (Asturias), and Fuengirola (Málaga) appear. In total, more than 270 municipalities across these ten provinces have at least one hotel for sale on Idealista. Not bad for finding deals.
